The RM of Oakview Recreation Initiative was developed in 2022 and is committed to providing and promoting education/recreation opportunities, the general well-being of all citizens and community engagement for all residents and visitors to our municipality.

Trails

Oak River Nature Trail
3 km of walking trail located a mile east of Oak River on Highway 24

 

George Place Trail
10 km walking, biking, hiking trail located East of Rapid City on Second Avenue (by the gravel pit).

 

Prairie Gliders Ski & Snowshoe Club
3.3 km of skiing and snowshoe trails newly developed in 2022! The trails are located on 20 acres of private land at the West end of Rapid City.
For a membership to the club, which includes instruction from an experienced Nordic Ski instructor, or to access the trails, contact Stu Phillips (867-4046) or Frank Hyndman (204-570-0073).
