State of Local Emergency
STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY – RM OF OAKVIEWEffective July 1, 2026, the Council of the Rural Municipality of Oakview has declared a State of Local Emergency due to ongoing flooding, road washouts, and the impacts of excessive rainfall throughout the municipality.
This declaration allows the RM to take the necessary actions to help protect the safety and well-being of residents, safeguard property and infrastructure, and respond efficiently to changing conditions.
We encourage all residents to stay informed, avoid closed roads and flooded areas, and use extreme caution when travelling, particularly on gravel roads, which may become unstable or wash out without warning.
