Mid-West Weed District

The R.M. of Oakview, under the authority of Manitoba’s Noxious Weeds Act, has a responsibility to control the spread of weeds on property within the municipality.

The RM of Oakview is a part of the Mid-West Weed District, along with the Riverdale and Hamiota Municipalities.

The Mid-West Weed District Weed Supervisor is responsible for implementing weed control programs within the district. As well as controlling weeds in and on public areas, the Weed Supervisor also works with landowners to develop control strategies on private lands for particularly invasive weeds such as leafy spurge.
