BLANSHARD CDC REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Blanshard CDC purchased “Shenanigan’s Restaurant” a few years ago so that the community would have a restaurant since the Oak River Inn was closed. At this time, the Oak River Inn is meeting the needs of the community so the Blanshard CDC is requesting “Offer of Proposals” for the lease/possible sale of the building formerly operating as “Shenanigan’s Cafe”, located at 9 North Railway Street in Oak River, MB. The building was operating as a restaurant until December 31st, 2018 and may be an ideal location for a catering business as there are certain appliances, and kitchen and restaurant equipment available in the building. Any ideas or suggestions for the building that would complement the current businesses in the Village of Oak River may be considered.
Proposals for leasing should contain:
- The business to be proposed
- Hours of operation
- The amount and due date(s) of the lease/rent to be paid and proposed duration
- References and background for similar type of service
- Any conditions or restrictions that may apply
- Lessee will be required to hold two million dollars liability coverage
- Lessee would be responsible to obtain all necessary permits and licenses that may be required to operate
Proposals if interested in purchasing the building should contain the purchase price and proposed use of the building.

The Blanshard CDC reserves the right to waive informalities, to reject any or all Proposals, or to accept the Proposal deemed most favorable in the interest of the Blanshard CDC. If the Blanshard CDC decides to accept a proposal, the selection will be based on a number of criteria which shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, proposed lease rate, services provided, qualifications, and past experience of the bidder in a similar type setting.
